Rumors of the Tablet Z had been swirling for a few days now, and it looks like Sony themselves have put an end to the rumors by officially unveiling the tablet. The Xperia Z touts a Qualcomm 1.5GHz Quad-core S4 Pro, 2GB RAM, 32GB storage, 10.1-inch 1,920 x 1,200 screen with Mobile Bravia Engine 2, 8.1-megapixel Exmor R camera, NFC, LTE, microSD expansion and Sony's "S-Force" virtual surround sound.
Interestingly enough, according to specs the Xperia Tablet Z, at 6.9mm, is thinner than even the 7.1mm iPad Mini. Hopefully, the tablet will be headed to Canada and if it does we expect it to be available at Sony stores and perhaps LTE carriers.

Jelly Bean to be Android 4.1? Possible debut on sub-$200 ASUS made tablet.
Rumors of an ASUS manufactured, Tegra 3 Quad core powered, 7 inch Jelly Bean tablet have been running rampant for the past few weeks. We reported earlier this year that ASUS would be looking to make a similarly equipped tablet for $250 and we though that was a great deal. Recent rumors have been suggesting that Google would be looking into partnering with ASUS to produce a $199 which would make it an even better deal. Today we get our first evidence of the existence the "Nexus Tablet", as Powerboard's Rightware benchmarking software has recorded a device listed as "Google Asus Nexus 7" with a Tegra 3 CPU and a 1280x768 resolution display. We will bring you more info on this tablet as the story unfolds.

HTC Flyer 4G now available from Vidéotron
The HTC Flyer with AWS HSPA+ bands had passed by the FCC a while ago and a ROM made for Vidéotron was spotted on XDA. This all leads to the release of the HTC Flyer 4G, an HSPA+ capable version of the Flyer. Today we get official news that the Flyer 4G is now available to Vidéotron for $499.95 on agreement for a data plan. Unfortunately the Scribe pen isn't included. Keep it locked on Android Bugle for our review of the Flyer and check out the full press release after the break.

First Screenshots of HTC Flyer running Android 3.2 Honeycomb with Sense UI
Last Friday, we started getting reports of an early beta build of Android 3.2 Honeycomb for the HTC Flyer being leaked to Paul from MoDaCo. As this leaked build made its way to XDA members, one person has managed to get the ROM to boot on their 32GB 3G Flyer (apparently the only version that will work with the leaked ROM right now). The user, globatron has graciously posted up some screenshot for us to examine. Check them out after the break.

HTC Puccini to be called the Jetstream, still headed to Rogers?
A while back we speculated that the leaked HTC Puccini, that was slated to head to AT&T in the states would also be headed north of the border. While we still think Rogers is the best candidate as a destination for the Jetstream, Bell and/or TELUS are also possible candidates given their foothold in the AWS spectrum. Check out all the info we have on the Jetstream after the break.

HTC Flyer making its Canadian debut via The Source
A long awaited tablet is just about to hit to make its grand entrance to Canada, the Flyer will be hitting shelve as of today. The tablet is running Android 2.3 with a Tablet oriented version of Sense. With Android 3.2 adding support for Qualcomm chipsets we expect the Flyer to be in line for an upgrade to Honeycomb 3.2. Unfortunately, unlike in the US where Best Buy is now including the scribe pen with the Flyer free of charge, Canadians will have to fork over the extra $80 to get in on the handwriting action. Official press release after the break.

Could the HTC "Puccini" tablet be heading to Rogers?
To say that HTC and Android's successes were anything less than meteoric would be a huge understatement. So when Google announced their Tablet version, Android 3.x Honeycomb, of the OS it was implicitly expected that HTC would be in on the action. Sadly, that hasn't been the case (so far...)

Acer Iconia Tab A500 gets Android 3.1
The Canadian Android tablet landscape has gotten a whole lot interesting over the past three months and many companies have jumped at the chance of grabbing the exploding growth of the tablet market. One aspect that these manufacturers need to keep tabs on (pun intended) is keeping up to date with the latest iterations of Android. The Acer Iconia Tab is now completely up to date with an OTA update to Android 3.1.

ASUS Eee Pad Transformer flying off the shelves
As we stated in the past on Android Bugle, Canada hasn't exactly been a hotbed for tablets and of course Android tablets. But things seem to be changing as the highly anticipated ASUS Eee Pad Transformer launched on April 26th has been out of stock nation wide as well as in the rest of North America.

Motorola XOOM making the trip to Canada
Android supporters in Canada longing for an Android 3.0 Honeycomb powered tablet will be happy to hear that the WiFi version will be hitting Canada in April.
With no real Android powered tablet offering in Canada outside of the Samsung Galaxy Tab and lesser tablets from smaller tablet makers like Viewsonic and Archos, the tablet optimized XOOM will be a very welcome addition to the very sparse collection of Android tablet devices in Canada.

HTC Flyer 7-inch Tablet to "fly" into TELUS
According to a MobileSyrup tipster, the newly annouced HTC Flyer, a 7-inch Tablet, will be hitting TELUS in the near future. This tablet is packing a 1.5GHz single-core CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 7-inch 1024 x 600 resolution screen, is running a tablet version of HTC Sense and is apparently compatible with an HTC pressure sensitive stylus.
Unfortunately the HTC Flyer will only be running Android 2.4 (a tweaked version of 2.3) and not the fabled Android 3.0 Honeycomb that is optimized for tablets. This is somewhat an odd move by TELUS as they decided to pass on the Samsung Galaxy Tab, a similar tablet in hardware and form factor, because the upgrade path was uncertain and Google had stated that 2.1 (as well as 2.2) weren't made for tablet. While Android 2.3 wasn't stated to be optimized for tablets either, I guess Gingerbread was good enough for TELUS to jump aboard the Tablet craze.
Check out the video after the break.
