TELUS HTC Desire HD planned to get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich July 25th

Great news for owners of the HTC Desire HD from TELUS. In an update of their "OS Upgrade schedule" document, the HTC Desire HD has been added to the list of devices to be upgraded to ICS and is expected to get the upgrade July 25th. We're glad to see that TELUS has officially added the Desire HD to their upgrade list following HTC's official commitment to upgrade the device. Latest TELUS OS Upgrade Schedule shows upgrade dates for Android lineup

Android updates have always been a hot debate topic between enthusiasts and carriers. Enthusiasts wanting their updates faster and carriers wanting to test them for problems on their network. Well TELUS is taking steps toward being more transparent with their upgrade timelines by providing regular update schedules. In the latest iteration TELUS reveals the upgrade dates for several Android devices in its lineup. Check out the upgrade list after the break.

Motorola releases ICS update schedule

Motorola has just updated their projected update path for several of their handsets. The Motorola RAZR, we we last reviewed is confirmed for an update to Android 4.0 in Q2 2012. Other devices expected to get ICS are unfortunately "Under Evaluation" for the ICS update, this includes the Motorola XOOM WiFi, the Motorola XT860 as well as the Motorola Atrix. Fortunately though, the Motorola XOOM in the US has already gotten ICS while the Atrix in the US is listed for an upgrade to ICS in Q3 so we are hoping the smae update will eventually make it's way to Canada. The Motorola XT860, is however still in "limbo" as the US version (DROID 3) is also "Under Evaluation". Check out the full upgrade list after the break.

Motorola XOOM will get 3.1 upgrade "soon" includes SDCard support

Motorola Canada, has just dropped a juicy tidbit on two fronts. For one the WiFi only Motorola XOOM in Canad will be getting the Android 3.1 upgrade "soon" and noted that this update will also include SDCard support.

Motorola XOOM WiFi now available

The Motorola XOOM has finally hit Canadian shelves. It is now available at Best Buy and Futureshop for $599. While it's great to see a high end Android tablet finally making it to market in Canada, the price leaves us scratching our heads a bit.

Android supporters in Canada longing for an Android 3.0 Honeycomb powered tablet will be happy to hear that the WiFi version will be hitting Canada in April.

With no real Android powered tablet offering in Canada outside of the Samsung Galaxy Tab and lesser tablets from smaller tablet makers like Viewsonic and Archos, the tablet optimized XOOM will be a very welcome addition to the very sparse collection of Android tablet devices in Canada.
