Bell says that HTC Incredible S will not get upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

Looks like we are getting a case of deja vu, as Bell has stated via their official Twitter account that the Bell HTC Incredible S will not be getting an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This is even more confusing than the Desire HD situation as the international version of the Incredible S is already enjoying Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. We've reached out to Bell and HTC for more information and will let you guys know what goes down.

HTC posts upgrade schedule for its 2011 lineup

HTC has taken a really nice step into being more transparent with it's upgrade schedule by publishing upgrade dates for many of their devices. Most notably the HTC Desire HD has been added to the upgrade list. What we do have to remember though is that this upgrade schedule is subject to carrier testing and approval so date might not match up exactly for Canadian devices. Check out the list after the break.

HTC Desire HD and Incredible S to get Ice Cream Sandwich "later this year"

HTC has just announced and confirmed via their Facebook page that they will be updating the Desire HD and Incredible S to ICS "later this year". We're glad to finally see confirmation of ICS for these phones and expected it as their hardware is more than sufficient to run ICS. We hope that these updates make their way to Canada as well. If there is a silver lining to the "later this year" statement, the EVO 3D was tossed in the same bunch and given it's hardware we can't imagine it could be too challenging to get ICS on the EVO 3D meaning the update to the Incredible S and Desire HD might come sooner than later  Unfortunately there is no word on ICS for the QWERTY Keyboard clad Desire Z.

HTC Incredible S Review

HTC has really come a long way since 1997 when the company first began operations. The company really made its first marks on the smartphone world with their Windows Mobile offerings. But their really big impact on the smartphone world was when they were the first company to take a chance on an unknown mobile operating system called Android. Who would have thought from the lowly HTC made T-Mobile G1 would be the beginning of a mobile revolution. Today we look at one of HTC's latest offering the HTC Incredible S from Bell, a phone inspired from one of HTC's most successful phones ever, the HTC DROID Incredible.

Bell launching the HTC Incredible S on April 4th

As predicted last week, Bell will be launching the HTC Incredible S. While this is a very respectable device, in the world of dual-cores and qHD displays the Incredible S might seem a tad underwhelming. Still this is definitely no slouch and will of course be a welcome addition to Bell's greatly improving Android lineup.
