HTC Emerald to be officially launched as the HTC Panache

The HTC Emerald/myTouch 4G is well on it's way to hitting Mobilicity shelves. One sure fire sign it's coming soon is that it has been officially name the HTC Panache. We have to hand it to Mobilicity, this is a coup for their Android lineup as the HTC Panache allows them to be well positioned to compete with the big three.

HTC Glacier/myTouch 4G to hit Mobilicity as the HTC Emerald with Android 2.3 Gingerbread?

It's pretty well known that the new entrants WIND, Vidéotron and Mobilicity are somewhat at a disadvantage of having to rely on AWS (1700MHz) as their 3G band as there aren't as many handsets made for this specific band. But if there was one advantage is that they can piggyback handset unit purchases with T-Mobile in the US since they also use AWS.

While this hasn't happened at the pace most Android enthusiasts would like, given T-Mobile's extensive Android portfolio, this little bit of news is pretty interesting.
