Motorola official announces the RAZR (yup it's back!) and it's headed to Rogers

Who would have thought, the world most recognizable phone before the unbiquitous iPhone is making a comeback. Motorola is bringing back the RAZR brand and finally powering it with Android. A match made in heaven? Who knows. More after the break.

What we do know is that it is a mind blowing 7.1mm thin, it's packing a 4.3-inch qHD Super AMOLED screen, 1.2GHz dual core processor, 8MP camera capable of 1080p HD recording and is sporting a diamond cut aluminum frame, Corning Gorilla glass and Kevlar back. Engadget is reporting that the demo units on hand are equipped with Android 2.3 Gingerbread which is something of a dissapointment considering Ice Cream Sandwich is going to be announced later tonight.

Interestingly on the Motorola Canada site there is a pre-order link that leads to a broken Rogers page which is a bit surprising considering this is the first high profile Motorola phone to hit Rogers in a while. What is also unclear is whether or not the Rogers version will also be equipped with LTE like the Verizon version but we do hope it is.

[EDIT] Looks like there is no LTE for the Canadian version. Which is not surprising as Rogers didn't mention Motorola as on of their LTE launch devices.
