Samsung Galaxy S getting Android 2.3 Gingerbread

According to a post on XDA Developers forums, the Samsung Galaxy S in Europe has started receiving a limited roll out of Android 2.3 Gingerbread! This is a sharp turn around for Samsung after many users (especially in the US) felt that the roll out for Froyo was far too long and drawn out on the Galaxy S and all it's variants.

This is fantastic news for Canadians as the Froyo update in Europe was followed shortly by Canadian versions getting Froyo. More specifically the Bell Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant since it is almost identical to the European Samsung Galaxy S.

  1. Denis,

I just upgraded my Bell Canada Galaxy S about five minutes ago to Gingerbread via Samsung Kies. FYI.

Do you have a screenshot/picture you could possibly share with us to show your Galaxy S with Gingerbread?
