[Update: It's rolling out now!] Bell/Virgin Samsung Galaxy S II to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the next few days

Good news for owners of the venerable Samsung Galaxy S II 4G from Bell. As we reported late last month, the International Galaxy S II was getting a rollout of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Given how close the International and Bell version are when it comes to hardware, we expected the ubiquitous device to get the update relatively quickly.

Thanks to a post put out on the Samsung Mobile Canada Facebook page, we now know that that update is scheduled for the next few days. This upgrade brings the Galaxy S II the same Nature UI present on the Galaxy S III. This of course also includes the plethora of features in Jelly Bean, including Project Butter but unfortunately doesn't include Galaxy S III features like S Voice.

Check out the official post after the break. Worth noting is the part stating: "Please stay tuned for more upgrade announcements for other carriers & other devices over the coming weeks". Hopefully this means a quick update to other Samsung Galaxy S II variants.

[Update:] Looks like the update is rolling out as we speak. Have at it Galaxy S II owners!

GALAXY S II owners on Bell Canada's network will get a taste of Jelly Bean over the next few days. Please stay tuned for more upgrade announcements for other carriers & other devices over the coming weeks.
