Out with Android Market and in with ... Google Play?

In a surprising move Google has decided to phase out the Android Market and have updated devices running Android 2.2 and above to the Play Store. While fundamentally there isn't much difference between the Android Market and Play Store, this represents a shift in strategy from being simply an App market to be a full fledged store to get Books, Movies, Musics as well as apps. While the idea is good we felt like the Android Market was a name that was very marketable and known. In any case, next time you check the Android Market on your phone there is a good chance it will be receiving the update.
