Sony Ericsson shows off over 20 games specifically optimized for the Xperia Play (minecraft!)

Ever since the Xperia Play hit the hands of mobile tech reviewers (including yours truly) the general feeling was that while the Xperia Play is overall a good phone, although bulky and a bit to plastic, it was a bit weak in an area that should have been a strength; and that's gaming.

While the game controls were superb (keep your eyes peeled on AndroidBugle for our full review), the game offerings were really lacking.

With E3 just about to wrap up, coinciding with the recent launch of the Xperia Play on Verizon, the largest carrier in the US, Sony Ericsson took the opportunity to show off over 20 games optimized for the Xperia Play. Several titles including the cult smash hit Minecraft are among the games to hit the "Playstation Phone".

Hopefully this will give the Xperia Play a good boost in sales as it will most certainly be a driving factor in developers working for the this handset in particular.
