HTC Desire on track to receive Android 2.3 Gingerbread by end of July

HTC has stated via their Facebook page that the original Desire looks like its on track to get Gingerbread by the end of this calendar month.

Interestingly enough, if there is this amount of coding and testing will the Desire still get the stock android experience like in our mockup? We will have to wait and see whether or not Telstra's commitment to a vanilla upgrade will hold or if HTC will manage to fit all of Sense UI into the update.

We will also have to wait for how long TELUS will take to approve the roll out. Hopefully it's as speedy as the HTC Desire HD rollout.
